Buggy Boy is an arcade game that was developed by Tatsumi in 1985 . The US version is called Speed Buggy and was licensed to Data East in 1986 . The game was a popular racing game ( Fun Racer ), and there are versions with one or three monitors.
Game principle and technology
The player controls an off-road vehicle and has to cope with different routes. You have to collect flags and drive through gates. The main obstacles are large boulders, barriers and tunnels, as well as enemy vehicles. The buggy can also jump when it drives over jumps or drive sideways on two wheels.
In addition to the standard version, there is also a luxury version with three monitors that are slightly angled next to each other so that a better all-round view is possible.
