history

The family house of the founding family Buitoni in Sansepolcro

Buitoni was founded in 1827. The so-called Casa Buitoni , the family house of the founding family Buitoni, is located about 50 km from Arezzo in the village of Sansepolcro . It still serves as a reception villa for journalists and as a development center for pasta products. At the beginning of the company's history, production was also carried out there, today the company has production facilities not only in Italy, but also in France and the United States.

The company was taken over by the Swiss company Nestlé in 1988 . In 2008 the pasta division was sold to the Italian Newlat Group, founded in 2004. Regardless of this, Nestlé later began to produce and sell pasta products under the Buitoni brand. The products of the Buitoni brand are exported to over 50 countries around the world.
