Buk-gu ( Korean 북구 ) is one of the eight districts of Daegu . It is one of the northern districts of the city. Literally translated the name means northern district . The district borders the Dong-gu , Jung-gu , Seo-gu, and Dalseong-gun neighborhoods in a clockwise direction .

Bae Gwangsik is the district mayor. He is a member of the Mirae-tonghap party .
