Bukatia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bukatia ( ancient Greek Βουκάτια ) were festivals in ancient Greece .

Inscriptions only testify to them from Delphi , where they are called Labyadai among the feasts of the Delphic phratry . Here first gifts are offered to the gods Zeus Patroos and Apollon . Since Greek month names were named after festivals and the month name Bukatios occurs in several western Greek calendars , a large festival is assumed that was celebrated in several poles of western Greece.
