Bulan ( Indonesian Pulau Bulan , also written Bulang) belongs to the Indonesian Riau Islands south of Singapore in the Malay Archipelago .
Bulan is located off the east coast of Sumatra - north of Combol , west of Rempang and southwest of Batam . The area of the island is 100 km².
It is a center of agricultural production for Singapore: 400,000 pigs (as of 2000) covered 50% of the Singapore market. A crocodile farm with 55,000 animals produced leather and meat. In addition, chickens are raised and orchids are grown.
