Association of Architects of the GDR
The Association of Architects of the German Democratic Republic (BdA / GDR), newly founded in 1952, was a professional organization. The tasks of the BdA were u. a .:
- Further training for architects
- Promotion of socialist architecture and socialist urban development
- Participation in the planning and execution of investment projects
- Participation in designing architectural competitions
Since 1955 the BdA has been a member of the Union Internationale des Architectes (UIA) and since 1958 of the International Association for Housing, Urban Development and Regional Planning (IFHP).
The BdA was co-editor of the magazines Architektur in der DDR , Landschaftsarchitektur and Farbe und Raum .
After an opinion poll among the members, the BdA was dissolved on November 30, 1990.
