Bundaberg Brewed Drinks is an Australian family company that produces soft drinks such as ginger beer . The company was founded in 1960 in the town of the same name, Bundaberg, under the name Electra Breweries as a bottling and fermentation company . The local Fleming family bought the company in 1968 and has been running it ever since. Since 1973 the company's operations have been located at 147 Bargara Road in Bundaberg. Over the years, the sales figures and brand awareness increased nationally and internationally, so that the brand is now one of the major international ginger beer manufacturers. According to its own information, the company exports to over 30 countries, including Germany, for which a partnership was entered into with the Karlsberg brewery . In 2018 they also partnered with PepsiCo to distribute their products in the USA .

On November 18, 2005, The Barrel visitor center opened in the shape of a barrel. The 25 mx 10 m building is one of Australia's Big Things , a series of oversized objects that serve as advertising media or attractions for tourists. In addition to a souvenir shop, media-based insight into the manufacturing process is offered and drinks can be tasted. The Royal Crown Draft Premium Cola , produced under license from Bundaberg Brewed Drinks, is only available in Australia at this visitor center. In the course of the spread of Covid-19 , the visitor center was temporarily closed on March 18, 2020.
