Federal matriculation fund

The Bundesmatrikularkasse was the war chest of the German Confederation . It was created mainly to the maintenance of the federal forts ensure and existed until the dissolution of the German Federal in 1866. The Bundesmatrikel met the Reichsmatrikeln in the Old Kingdom .

With the supplementary resolution of the Federal Assembly of July 11, 1822 to the military constitution of April 9, 1821 and the determination of the "more detailed provisions" in 94 paragraphs of April 12, 1821, the federal fortresses were dealt with and the establishment of this special fund was regulated at the same time.

Each member of the federal government had to pay a fixed amount into the federal register annually. When setting this contribution, the size of the country, the number of inhabitants and the economic strength were taken as a basis. Austria, as the largest member, paid 31.44% of the total income or 9,432 guilders - the Principality of Liechtenstein, as the smallest federal state, had to contribute 0.02% of the amount: six guilders. The total amount to be raised each year amounted to a total of 30,000 guilders.
