Federal Association of Color Design for Building Protection

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Federal Association of Color Design for Building Protection, as a trade and employers' association, bundles the interests of the guild companies of the painting and varnishing trade for the industry throughout Germany. The association's work is based on the voluntary and chargeable membership of the companies in the respective regional guild on site. The association is based in Frankfurt am Main .

History of the association

The industrialization that began in the middle and end of the 19th century led to a development that led to the establishment of the 1st German Employers' Association in the painting trade in 1907. It was founded in Hanover.

Members

389 painters and varnishers' guilds have come together in 17 state guild associations in Germany, which in turn form the Federal Association for Color Design and Building Protection. The Federal Association for Color Design and Building Protection comprises a total of 40,403 companies and 2,773 volunteers. The employers and trade association represents an industry with approx. 42,000 painters and varnishers, approx. 200,000 employees and more than 35,000 apprentices.

Structure and business activity

The federal association includes the state guild associations of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin-Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony, North Rhine, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, South Baden, Thuringia and Westphalia. All state guild associations are represented by a state guild master and a manager.

The members of the individual committees of the Federal Association of Color (education, public relations, social policy, technology, economy) are the representatives of the state guild associations. In the committees influence is exerted on the solution of specific problems in the branch.

The association's range of tasks today is diverse. However, the main task of the association is to secure advantages in the market for the guild companies in the painting and varnishing industry. Innovations and markets as well as developments in the service sector are observed and taken into account, which open up perspectives for member companies in their professional field.

Employers' association

As an employers' association , the federal association advocates regulations in social and collective bargaining policy , which are intended to offer painters and varnishers the opportunity to develop further in the market and to secure jobs. With the conclusion of nationwide applicable collective agreements , the wage and working conditions are shaped for the industry. Together with the IG Bau trade union, the association is the sponsor of the non-profit holiday supplementary pension fund for the painting and varnishing trade (painter's fund ). This regulates the vacation entitlements of employees, especially against the background of short periods of employment due to the weather, and protects companies from excessive vacation periods for employees. Additional commitments for old-age provision are intended to improve the image of the painter-varnishing profession in Germany.

The federal association also informs potential trainees who are interested in the profession of painter or varnisher.

Trade association

As a trade association, the federal association represents the entire industry. There are also contacts to ministries, administrations and those responsible in politics. As a leading trade association, it is a member of the Central Association of German Crafts (ZDH) . The Federal Association of the Construction Industry cooperates with other construction and expansion associations. The association is also involved as a representative for the contractor side in the German Procurement and Contract Committee for Construction Services (DVA) in the formulation of the procurement and contract regulations for construction services (VOB) . The international trade fair "Color - Finishing and Facade", which takes place every three years, is the ideal sponsorship of the association. The trade fair alternates between Cologne and Munich.

As a social partner, the federal association supports the qualification in the craft with the drafting of the contents of the training and master craftsman examination regulation for the painter and varnishing trade. In addition, the tasks for the annual journeyman and master craftsman's examinations are developed nationwide and applied almost everywhere.

Technical association

As a technical association, the standards are set in the regulations, for example via the leaflets of the Federal Committee for Color and Property Protection (BFS) on the processing guidelines. These describe the state of the art for different service areas in the painting and varnishing trade and serve as a basis for companies, experts, planners and architects. The association is represented in around 70 DIN / CEN standardization committees in order to bring the interests of professional processors to bear in technical standardization.

The Institute for Corporate Management of the BV Farbe offers companies support with operational management and determines key data of the industry, such as the planned values.

Specialist groups

In the association structure, the activities of the specialist groups show the different orientations of the painting and varnishing trade. The federal specialist group for vehicle painters is the point of contact for all concerns of vehicle paint shops. The Institute for Vehicle Painting determines the fundamentals from operational practice, which, for example, flow into the consultations with the insurance industry. The Federal Expert Group Putz-Stuck-Trockenbau takes on the special fields of work of the companies.

Presence in national and international institutions

The federal association is represented in the following institutions:

financing

The responsible guild at the location of the company establishment calculates the costs for voluntary membership individually for all applicants. When calculating the contribution, the gross wages of the applying company / business are decisive for the guild. A voluntary and chargeable membership strengthens the association to perceive the interests of the companies on a daily basis and entitles them to extensive benefits that are automatically included in the membership, but must be actively requested by the member from the association.
