The Federal Association of Patient Advocates in Hospitals eV (BPiK) represents the interests of patient advocates in German hospitals. The purpose of the association is to promote the public health system through the exchange between patient advocates so that they can better stand up for patients and patient rights. The main purpose of the association is to support patient advocates in their work for the benefit of the patient.

history

The BPiK was founded on March 15, 2015 in Berlin as part of the “Berlin Day of Patient Advocates . Since then, the association has focused on patient satisfaction at German hospitals and improving the quality of treatment. Another concern of the interest group is that the patient advocates give each other advice and support and that the connection between the members of the association is strengthened.

Day of the patient

The Federal Association of Patient Advocates in Hospitals (BPiK) calls on clinics and hospitals in Germany to participate on Patient Day on January 26th . The aim is to raise awareness of the rights of patients in hospitals and to present the work of patient advocates in clinics and hospitals.

Cooperation partner

The BPiK eV cooperates with the "Federal Association of Complaints Management for Health Institutions" (BBfG). In addition, the BPiK is a co-opted member of the German Society for Hospital Hygiene . The association receives support from State Secretary Karl-Josef Laumann , patient representative and authorized representative of the federal government .
