The Federal Association of Independent Professional Carers eV (BVfB) is a professional agency for independent professional carers in Germany. He is a member of

The association was founded in 1995 in Münster as an association of freelance carers , moved its headquarters to Berlin in 1998 and was renamed in 2004 to the "Federal Association of Independent Professional Carers". Its aim is to stand up for the interests of the independent supervisor and for a high quality of legal support . Every year the association organizes the "Day of the Freelance Professional Supervisor", a two-day conference at the Erkner Education Center .

Members can become persons who in Germany provide legal care for mentally ill and mentally handicapped people in accordance with §§ 1896 ff. BGB .

  • BtMan - from 2005 to 2009 BVfB was co-editor of the specialist magazine Betreuungsmanagement-BtMan (CF-Müller-Verlag, Heidelberg).

With the last issue of BtMan, the publication of printed association newspapers was discontinued.

Yellow book

The Yellow Book is a publication of the association that evaluates the care policy situation in the Federal Republic of Germany and the situation of the independent professional carers, draws conclusions for the development of the care system and derives demands and suggestions for the decision makers of the care system. It is published regularly after discussion in the association's committees and with external experts. It ties in with the practice of " color books ", especially white papers . This refers to document collections that are published by interested groups in order to provide orientation on political issues and to justify one's own actions. The yearbook, first published in 2010, gets its name from the association's color.
