Bunsen is an impact crater on the northwestern edge of the front of the moon west of Oceanus Procellarum . In the southeast lies the Lavoisier crater , in the west lies von Braun . The Bunsen Wall is badly eroded. In its interior, Bunsen has the fracture structures of a floor-fractured crater .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1964 after the German chemist Robert Wilhelm Bunsen .
