The Burç Bendi Dam is located 10 km west of the Ataturk Dam in Adıyaman Province ( Southeast Turkey ). It is located on the Göksu River - about 8 km above its mouth in the Euphrates .

The Burç-Bendi dam was built in the years 2008-2010 as a gravity dam made of rolled concrete . The hydropower project was implemented as an operator model . The 152.5 m long barrier structure is 47 m high (above the foundation level) and has a volume of 78,000 m³. The dam has a storage volume of 26.6 million m³. The Göksu is dammed over a length of about 10 km. The Sayören settlement is located on the western shore of the lake . The water flows through a 536 m long underground penstock with a diameter of 6 m to the power station of the Burç-Bendi dam. The hydraulic potential is 29 m. The hydropower plant has 3 Kaplan turbines (Verikal axis) of 9.3 megawatts each  . The expected standard energy capacity is 112 GWh per year.

When the reservoir was flooded , the late Hittite rock relief of Malpınar was flooded.
