The building, which is located next to the quarry stone house Burg 30 , which is also listed , has a large, two-winged workshop gate, a loading gate with access to the roof spaces in the gable and a regular framework. A small extension built on a quarry stone plinth on the rear gable side complements the structure offset from the ridge. The smithy was one of the farm buildings of a farm built in 1763.
The Burg residential area is already mentioned in the Mark County treasury from 1486. At that time, the farm was one of the wealthy in the region.
