Ahrbergen Castle

The castle Ahrbergen is an Outbound hilltop castle in today's Church Hill (Church of St. Peter and Paul ) above the heart in Ahrbergen , in the municipality of Giesen in Hildesheim in Lower Saxony .

The castle, which was protected by a palisade fence , was built around 1150 and only existed for about 200 years. In Ahrbergen on May 8th 1150 Cuno von Ahrbergen , one of the witnesses at the instruction of Count Hermann II of Winzenburg by Bishop Bernhard I of Hildesheim , is named. There is nothing left of the former castle complex.
