Kempe Castle

The castle Kempe is the late medieval ruin of a rock castle on a slate rocks directly above the Freiberger Mulde in the small town Mahlitzsch (part of Roßwein ) in mittelsachsen in Saxony .

history

Kempe Castle was probably built in the 14th century as a customs and escape castle and was the ancestral seat of the von Mals family. It is a typical contemporary residential tower (see. Eg. As Kriebstein Castle , Castle Kuckuckstein , Castle Wolkenstein (Erzgebirge) ).

In 2000 it was sold from state ownership to a Berlin real estate company for 22,000 German marks and is now an object of speculation.

investment

The former castle complex had three floors. It could be entered through a high entrance . The first, windowless floor probably served as a dungeon or store room.
