The castle "Schmalenstein" is a lost moated castle between two arms of the Walzbach near a paper mill at the eastern end of Weingarten in the district of Karlsruhe in Baden-Württemberg .

The castle was built in the 13th century by the Lords of Schmalenstein, mentioned in 1262 and destroyed in the 17th century. The former castle complex consisted of a rectangular core castle , which was completely surrounded by a rectangular defensive wall , of which only a few remains have survived.
