The Burgmannenhaus Pavey (Städtel 32) in Erbach in the Odenwald is a medieval Burgmannenhaus . It was created as part of the settlement of Burgmannen in front of the Erbacher Schloss as the core of the medieval city, surrounded by the arms of the Mümling in the area of today's Straße Im Städtel . With the so-called Templerhaus and the so-called Habermannsburg there are other buildings of this type.

history

The building is mentioned for the first time in 1427, when the nobleman Pavey reversed his castle fiefdom hoiffe, huss and hoiffreyde czu Erpach in the statute . The family is one of the older Burgmann families, which were supplemented by newly adopted families from the 15th century. The complex later became the property of the Counts of Erbach-Erbach and is now a kindergarten.

architecture

The Burgmannenhaus Pavey is a half-timbered building with a stone plinth, the back of which is attached to the northwestern city ring. A cellar portal with the coat of arms of the Zeitbos family and the year 1545 is located under a two-flight flight of stairs. The half-timbered structure of the main and auxiliary buildings (laundry room, stable, shed) was destroyed in a fire in the 18th century. A tower of the city fortifications was integrated into the northern part. A round arch frieze has been preserved on the ground floor of the extension, which, together with the shape of the loopholes, points to the 14th or 15th century.
