Castle stables Neuhaus (Plesná)
The Burgstall Neuhaus is an abandoned high-altitude castle southwest of Plesná in the Czech Republic.
Location and scope of the castle stables
The Burgstall is located in an extensive forest area on Buchenberg on the German-Czech border. It can be reached via hiking trails. The closest places are Plesná (Fleißen) in the northeast, Bad Brambach in the northwest, Velký Luh (Großloh) in the east and Skalná (Wildstein) in the south. The castle stable is about 50 meters from the Plauen – Cheb railway line between Vojtanov and Plesná.
The castle stable, which is popularly known as the Schneckenburg - of snails ( Šneky ) - lies on a mountain spur and is protected on the opposite side by a massive ditch. The plant was on an elongated plateau. Apart from the considerable height differences in the area, hardly any traces of the former weir system, which was mainly made of wood, are visible. The castle researcher Tomáš Durdík has examined the pre-documentary system.
