The Slavic rampart of Kittlitz , a municipality in the Duchy of Lauenburg in Schleswig-Holstein , lies east of the village on a spur on the Dutzower See.

The castle area is still 70 meters by 50 meters and rises up to 2.6 meters compared to the surrounding areas. A former wall construction can hardly be seen anymore. Investigations from 1960 revealed ceramic shards on the peninsula opposite to the east , as they were also found at Kittlitz Castle. These date from the 10th and 11th centuries. One suspects a settlement or even a castle on the eastern peninsula that was related to the Kittlitzer plant. The Kittlitz castle wall was in the area of the Polabians , a sub-tribe of the Obodrites .
