Life

Kesici grew up in a moderately religious family in Berlin-Spandau . On a pilgrimage he was convinced to lead a religious life.

In 1996, while studying political science at the Otto Suhr Institute of the Free University of Berlin , Kesici wrote a term paper in which he a. a. emphasizes the pre- enlightened Islamic unity of state and religion against the explicitly not mentioned secular principle of western democratic societies : “Islam provides for a unity between state and religion. They cannot be separated from each other. My analysis has shown me that all Muslims agree on this point. ... There must be people who want an Islamic order and who are working towards it. If they live Islam, then they can also exercise an Islamic influence on society, which will also affect the state ”.

After his studies, Kesici became a member of the Islamic Federation in Berlin. He describes himself as " conservative ".
