Burkhard Neumann

Burkhard Neumann (born January 11, 1961 ) is a German Catholic theologian .

Life

From 1967 to 1971 he attended elementary school in Thülen and from 1971 to 1980 the grammar school Petrinum Brilon . From 1980 to 1985 he studied Catholic theology in Paderborn and Freiburg im Üechtland and completed pastoral training at the Paderborn seminary from 1985 to 1987 . After ordination in 1987, he was vicar in the parish of St. Michael Hagen - Wehringhausen from 1987 to 1989 . From 1989 to 1996 he was a research assistant at the Johann Adam Möhler Institute for Ecumenism in Paderborn. After graduation in 1996 to doctor of theology at the Theological Faculty of Paderborn he was from 1996 to 1997 parochial administrator of the communities of St. Augustine (New Listernohl) and St. Joseph (Attendorn) . From 1997 to 2001 he was parish vicar of the parish of St. Marien Schlangen . From 2001 to 2003 he was released for further studies. Since 2004 he has been director at the Johann Adam Möhler Institute in Paderborn. After completing his habilitation in 2009 in dogmatics and ecumenical theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Münster , he teaches there as a private lecturer.
