The Busch Memorial Stadium , also known as Busch Stadium or Busch Stadium II , was a multifunctional sports stadium located in St. Louis , Missouri , USA from 1966 to 2005 . The stadium was the permanent home of the St. Louis Cardinals MLB team . In addition, the NFL teams St. Louis Cardinals (1966 to 1987) and St. Louis Rams (1995) played their home games at Busch Memorial Stadium.

After the stadium was demolished in 2005, the New Busch Stadium was built almost at the same location , but it is only used for the Cardinals' baseball franchise .

World Series

The Busch Memorial Stadium has hosted the World Series for six seasons . The Cardinals played their home games of the World Series in 1967, 1968, 1982, 1985, 1987 and 2004 in the stadium.

Naming

Busch stands for the last name of one of the two founders of the American brewery Anheuser-Busch , which has its headquarters in St. Louis and was the owner of the Cardinals baseball team from the mid-1950s to 1996.
