Butterscotch
Ice cream with butterscotch and hot fudge
Butterscotch is a confectionery product that is essentially made from brown sugar and butter . Depending on the recipe, other ingredients can be added, for example cream , syrup , lemon juice , vanilla or a pinch of salt . The recipe is similar to that of toffee .
The term "butterscotch" is also used to designate a flavor for other products, such as pudding or liqueur .
