Buurgaal

Buurgaal is a peninsula in Somalia . It belongs politically to Jubaland and geographically to the Bajuni Islands , a chain of coral islands ( barrier islands ), which extends from Kismaayo in the north over 100 kilometers to the Raas Kaambooni near the Kenyan border.

The peninsula lies at the mouth of the river Buur Gaabo in the Kiyaambo Bay . The Kaambo Kiyaambo spring is located in the bay . From there the peninsula runs north and, together with Laangua Bembe and Tandraas, includes the Bay of Bandar Makalla . The peninsula itself is very elongated and forms Cape Ras Buur Gaabo in the north , rises in the middle to the hill Milima Kidey and extends south into the bay and to Cape Ras Kaamba Kiyaambo , which ends in the island of Kifa Kamlaango , then the rock island Keti-Keti closeson. The four rocky islands Isoletti Divadicioci are located in the southern area off the coast . The row of islands becomes lighter to the south. Over the next few kilometers, the coast is divided into various capes (Ras). The closest "island" is Buur Howla next to the Scogli Ago reef .
