The Bajuni Islands or Baajun Islands are a chain of coral islands in the Indian Ocean in southern Somalia , stretching along the coast at a distance of one to six kilometers from Kismaayo in the north over 100 kilometers to the Raas Kaambooni near the Kenyan border. The total area of ​​these islands is over 30 square kilometers. They are the northernmost part of a chain of reefs on the coast of East Africa that also includes Zanzibar and Pemba . Administratively, they belong to the Jubbada Hoose region .

The six largest islands are, from north to south: Koyaama (Koyama, 6.38 km²), Gumme (Ngumi, 2.56 km²), Jofay (Chowaye, Chovaye, 5.46 km²), Juula (Chula, 6.40 km²) km²), Dargas (Darakasi, 1.99 km²) and Tandraas (Chandra, 2.95 km²).

The Bajuni Islands are inhabited by around 1,000 Bajuni who belong to the Swahili society . The most populated of the islands is Juula (Chula). The islands of Fuma (also Fuuma, Fuyuuma or Fuma Iyu Na Tini), Jofay, Ndoa and Kudai are inhabited.
