The Buxton Glacier is a glacier on the north coast of South Georgia . It flows between the Heaney and Cook glaciers in a northeast direction to Saint Andrews Bay .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1987 after the Buxton family. Aubrey Buxton, Baron Buxton of Alsa (1918-2009) and his wife Pamela visited South Georgia in March 1982 on board the HMS Endurance . Their daughter Lucinda Catherine Buxton (* 1950) led an animal film expedition in the area of this glacier between February and April 1982.
