Byrdtief
The Byrdtief is a deep sea in the southern part of the Pacific Ocean (Pacific) and with 8582 m depth the deepest point of the South Pacific Basin .

The Byrd Deep is located slightly north of the junction of the Pacific and Southern Oceans at about 58 ° south latitude and 178 ° east longitude . It is located around 760 km north of Scott Island and around 1000 km southeast of New Zealand's Campbell Island .
