Cäcilie Thiermann-Heise (born January 26, 1907 in Lodz , † November 19, 1986 in Munich ) was a German graphic artist , painter and draftsman .

Life

Cäcilie Thiermann-Heise (née Heise) spent her childhood as the daughter of a factory owner until the outbreak of the First World War in Riga . In Lodz she attended a lyceum, then a boarding school in Poznan . Although she was already admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow , she decided in 1927 to go to Munich to study art. In 1928 she passed the entrance examination at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich , where she studied with Adolf Schinnerer (graphics) and Max Doerner (monumental painting) and became a master class student.

Between 1932 and 1939 her works were u. a. in Munich (Glaspalast, Lenbach-Galerie, Kunstverein), Danzig, Düsseldorf, Erfurt, Halle, Jena, Königsberg, Leipzig, Nuremberg; Switzerland (Agra), Poland (Lodz), Warsaw (Kattowitz) exhibited, 1948 to 1975 a. a. in Munich (House of Art, Lenbach Gallery, Professional Association, Radierverein, Gedok), Berlin, Erlangen, Frankfurt, Ingolstadt, Lindau, Memmingen, Rosenheim, Würzburg, New York, Rome, Basel (International Art Fair 1974) and Milan (1975 Price of Lombardy). In 2017 a work was presented as part of the exhibition “The Self-Portrait. Works on paper from the Frerich Collection ”shown in Rüsselsheim, together with works by Ernst Barlach, Thomas Bayrle, Max Beckmann, Lovis Corinth, Otto Dix, Conrad Felixmüller, George Grosz, Bernhard Heisig, Oskar Kokoschka, Käthe Kollwitz, Alfred Kubin, among others , Max Liebermann, Man Ray and Andy Warhol.

Her works can be found in collections of the Free State of Bavaria, the City of Munich and private collections in Germany and abroad.

family

Cäcilie Thiermann-Heise married the artist Adolf Thiermann in 1939 . The marriage had six children.
