Cäcilie Zeitlose Wicht (* 1626 in Dachsenhausen ; † March 22, 1676 in Idstein ) was a German victim of the witch persecution in Idstein .

Cäcilie Zeitlose Wicht was born as the daughter of Pastor Johann Wendelin Rhod in Dachsenhausen. She had been the wife of Pastor Johannes Wicht in Heftrich since 1649 and had eight children. After being accused by other alleged witches under torture, the pastor's wife and her sister, the widowed school teacher Anna Magdalena Schneider from Heftrich, were arrested on February 18, 1676. Finally, under the torture, she confessed to what was asked of her. Initially sentenced to death at the stake , she was 'pardoned' for beheading with an ax. Her widower was allowed to bury her in the church cemetery for a cash payment.

Commemoration

The victims of the witch persecution in Idstein were unanimously rehabilitated morally and socially and ethically by the Idstein City Parliament in 2014. A memorial plaque was put up by the parish in 2015 at the rectory in Heftrich.
