Cécile Guillame

Cécile Guillame (born July 18, 1933 in Chassey-lès-Montbozon , France , † August 4, 2004 ) was a French engraver and stamp artist . She was the first woman to engrave postage stamps for the post in France.

In the 1950s she studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Nancy and the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris . Thanks to her husband, engraver Michel Monvoisin , she was able to start working as an engraver and postage stamp artist for the French Post. Their first stamp was issued for Monaco in 1967 and France in 1973.

By the time she retired, she had engraved or designed over 300 stamps in total.
