C. Michelle Olmstead (born May 21, 1969 in Washington, DC ) is an American astronomer and asteroid explorer.
From 1989 to 1993 she studied physics and astronomy at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff . During her studies, she discovered a total of 46 asteroids between 1977 and 1990 .
She is also a co-discoverer of the periodic comet 127P / Holt-Olmstead .
Honors
The asteroid (3287) Olmstead was named after her.
