Lists on the subject |
CA-95 is a Romanian short-range mobile air defense system that is conceptually similar to the Soviet 9K31 Strela-1 system . It uses Strela-2 guided missiles manufactured under license . The modernized variant CA-95M uses the technically revised A-95M guided missiles.
vehicle
The ML-A95 base vehicle is based on the chassis of the Romanian TABC-79 armored car , it is floatable and air-transportable. The vehicle has a crew of four. On the vehicle there is a starter tower that can be rotated through 360 ° and on which four guided missile launchers are mounted on the side. In the marching position, the containers lie flat on the vehicle roof. The gunner with the optical sight, with which the target is acquired, is located in the tower behind a Plexiglas window. In order to increase the probability of being hit, the guided missiles are usually fired in pairs at a target during use. The starter can be reloaded by hand within a few minutes.
Guided missiles
In the A-95 missile many components of were CA-94 - MANPADS used. The rocket's uncooled infrared seeker reacts to infrared radiation . The improved guided missile A-95M is currently in service with the Romanian armed forces. Air targets approaching or flying past can be fought up to a flight speed of 310 m / s. The maximum airspeed for combating a departing air target is 220 m / s.
