CCL22 ( English CC chemokine ligand 22 ) is a cytokine belonging to the family of the C-C chemokines .

properties

CCL22 is involved in inflammatory processes. It binds to CCR4 . CCL22 is produced by macrophages and dendritic cells and binds dendritic cells and TH2 cells. It is induced by the cytokines interleukin-4 and interleukin-5 and downregulated by interferon-gamma . CCL22 is implicated in TH2 hypersensitivity of the airways and in atopic dermatitis.
