The intercellular adhesion molecule 3 (engl. Adhesion molecule intercellular 3 ; ICAM-3, CD50) is a surface protein from the group of cell adhesion molecules .

properties

ICAM-3 is produced by leukocytes . It binds to LFA-1 (complex of integrin alpha-L and integrin beta-2 ) and to the complex of integrin alpha-D and integrin beta-2. The binding of ICAM-3 to integrin alpha-D and integrin beta-2 is involved in the phagocytosis of apoptotic neutrophils by macrophages . ICAM-3 is glycosylated and phosphorylated .
