The CDA publisher is established in 1995, Austrian magazine publisher based in Perg .

Ownership

The company founded by Marianne and Harald Gutzelnig on March 3, 1995 and owned by them employs 16 people. From October 17, 1997 to September 19, 2000 the company was based in Arbing . From the year 2000 the company was majority owned by ET Multimedia AG (ETM) for several years. Since then, the company has been back in Perg. The share capital of CDA Verlags- und Handelsgesellschaft mbH was originally 500,000 schillings, later 36,500 euros. On February 8, 2001, the share capital was increased to 51,318 euros. Currently (as of September 2010) the share capital should amount to 35,000 euros.

Publishing products

PC news and PC users

The publisher published the computer magazines PC News from 1995 to July 2014 (original name: PC Info) and PC User (from October 2009 to June 2011) in Germany , Luxembourg and Switzerland . The two magazines appeared alternately every two months and originally had a print run of more than 50,000 copies.

The magazines were each delivered together with a DVD, which, depending on the focus of the issue, contained current computer topics in the areas of hardware and software for hobby users or application programs and operating systems. In this regard, the publisher has also registered title protection for the terms “PC NEWS”, “PC TREND”, “PC WISSEN” and “COMPUTER INFO”.

CD Austria and CD Austria Praxis

In Austria, the two magazines appeared partly with Austria-related information under the designation CD Austria and CD Austria Praxis , so that the impression of a monthly publication was created. The publisher's journals were first published in Austria in 1993 under the title CD Info by CD Data . The print run of CD Austria checked by the Austrian Edition Control was 16,485 copies in each case in the first half of 2010. The CD Info was published in Austria until 9/2003. In July 2014 the last edition of CD Austria was published without any notification .

Vidorial

From 2010 to November 2011, in addition to the homepages of the magazines, the publisher operated the Internet platform Vidorial , where numerous video tutorials were made available for PC users (some of which were subject to a charge). Some of the videos were created by the publisher itself and were then available in HD quality. The offer was supplemented by cooperation with other publishers. When the video platform was launched in November 2010, around three thousand films with video instructions for PC users could be accessed. The website has not been accessible since the end of 2011.

Android magazine

In June 2011 the publisher brought out the first Android magazine for the German-speaking magazine market. According to the publisher, the magazine is aimed at beginners and advanced users of Android phones. With a print run of 100,000 copies, including 15,000 in an XL version, as well as 20,000 downloads, the 116 to 132 page magazine is published every two months and reaches 170,000 readers.

Android apps

The magazine deals with apps for Android devices. With a print run of 65,000 copies and 15,000 downloads, the bimonthly, 100-page magazine reaches 100,000 readers.

Smartphone

The magazine Smartphone Magazine appears in the two-month cycle. It contains topics related to the smartphone.

Active school!

Active school! was a regular supplement to the CD AUSTRIA school edition from January 2005 to 2012 . Due to the high level of acceptance by the teaching staff, the magazine has been sent to schools as a stand-alone magazine since 2012 . All Austrian elementary schools have also received the magazine since 2013 . It includes topics related to schools and modern learning.

Handbook of new media, audio CD Barack Obama, special issues from CD Austria

  • In 2006 CDA Verlag published the New Media Manual , ISBN 978-3200006027 .
  • In 2009 the publisher released an audio CD about the life of Barack Obama . ISBN 978-3-200-01422-0 .
  • In 2003 and 2010 a CD Austria magazine was published as a special issue of the bm: uK with the titles Schulinformatik - Quo vadis and 25 Jahre Schulinformatik respectively .
