Crișana Oradea was a Romanian football club from Oradea , Bihor County . He played from 1932 to 1938 in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A .

history

Crișana Oradea was founded in 1929. The association named itself after the historical Kreischgebiet (Romanian Crișana ) in which the city of Oradea is located. Shortly after it was founded, Crişana was one of the best clubs in the country and was able to qualify for the finals of the Romanian football championship in 1931 and 1932 by winning the regional group north, but was eliminated in the first game.

Consequently Crişana was in 1932, a founding member of the newly created professional league Divizia A . This belonged to Crișana until 1938. The club achieved its best result in the 1933/34 season , when it narrowly missed the finals as runner-up in Group 1.

In 1940, Crișana was able to qualify as the winner of his season of Divizia B for promotion to Divizia A, but could no longer take this place because the city of Oradea had fallen to Hungary through the Second Vienna Arbitration . After the end of the Second World War , Oradea came back to Romania, but Crișana was assigned to Divizia B, contrary to the previously achieved athletic qualification. There the club played after the merger with local rivals CFR Oradea as Crișana CFR Oradea , from 1948 as CFR Oradea .

In 1950 the club changed its name again and was called Locomotiva Oradea from then on . After relegation from Divizia B in 1954, he took part in Divizia C in the 1956 season and disbanded after relegation.
