Iosif Lengheriu (born May 24, 1914 in Marosújvár , Austria-Hungary , † September 11, 1991 ) was a Romanian football player and coach . He played a total of 101 games in the Divizia A .

Career

societies

Lengheriu moved in 1934 to Ceramica Bistrita in the newly founded Divizia B . In 1935, first division club Crișana Oradea signed him . After nine goals in 19 games, he joined Rapid Bucharest in the summer of 1936 . With Rapid he was able to win the Romanian Cup six times in a row between 1937 and 1942 . He was able to win the championship with his team in the seasons 1936/37 and 1937/38, the runner-up. In the 1936/37 season he was able to score 13 goals in 17 games, but later never repeat this performance.

After the end of World War II he rejoined CFR Bucharest. From 1946 to 1948 he played in the club's second team, Grivița CFR Bucharest , that of Divizia B.

National team

Lengheriu played seven games for the Romanian national team . He made his debut on June 11, 1939 in a friendly against Italy . From April 14, 1940 to his last international match on October 12, 1941 against Slovakia , he was in the starting line-up in all six games.
