CHI RHO - The Secret (also Chi Rho - The Secret ) is a German cartoon series from 2010 directed by Michael Schaack and Florian Wagner. It relates to stories from the Old Testament and the New Testament . The title refers to the Christ monogram .

action

At the beginning of the series, the Bible Student Professor Petersen is kidnapped by Hreel, a messenger from evil. Hreel wants to change the Bible in favor of evil. In search of her father, his daughter Cora travels through the chapters of Holy Scripture with the help of a magical cube, Cubus Temporis . There she meets new friends, like Habib and the Wonderers , who help her on her adventurous journey.

characters

  • Hreel: Messenger of Evil

His job is to destroy the Bible stories and see that the book will never exist. To help, he kidnaps Prof. Petersen and disguises him as his slave. Hreel can manipulate people for his purpose through a hypnotic gaze. In order to get the knowledge of the Bible that he needs, he blackmailed Cora's father into harming his daughter (e.g. handing over robbers, killing)

  • Cora Petersen: girl, 12 years old, daughter of Professor Petersen

Cora's mother died when she was little. When her father is kidnapped by Hreel, she goes in search of him with the help of the Cubus Temporis. By jumping in time, she lands in Jerusalem, around 12 AD, where she meets Habib. Together with him and the Wonderers, she travels through the Bible stories to save her father. She even remembers some by herself, such as For example, the story of David and Goliath, which was their favorite bedtime story as a child.

  • Professor Petersen: 44 years old, father of Cora, Bible student

Prof. Petersen studied for 12 years and is a globally recognized biblical scholar. Because of his work, he has little time for his daughter Cora. He is particularly interested in his latest project, the Cubus Temporis, a golden cube of time travel. Knowing so much about the Bible and its stories, Hreel kidnaps him and blackmailed him into harming Cora if he didn't give him any information about the Bible stories. So that Cora can follow him, he leaves the Chi Rho symbol at each place with the place in the Bible that Hreel's next destination is.

  • Habib: 13 years old, boy, connoisseur of the Holy Land

Habib is from Nazareth at the same time that Jesus was living. After an argument with his father, he leaves home and moves to Jerusalem to become rich and famous there. There he meets the Wonderers and works with them. When Cora happens to appear right at his place through the Cubus Temporis, he initially thinks she is a genie in a bottle, but they soon become friends and Habib helps Cora to look for her father. Secretly he is even a little in love with Cora, which he would never admit.

The four can not only sing but also speak. You witnessed Jesus' birth in the stable outside Bethlehem and founded the band "The Wonderers" there. Since then they have been earning their living with music. When Habib decides to accompany Cora, they are directly involved and help the two of them on their journey wherever they can.

  • Cubus Temporis : magical golden cube, can transform itself into a mechanical owl called CT, contains the knowledge of the stories of the Bible and enables time to travel into them

CT can also fly and speak and supports Cora and Habib with his knowledge of the Bible. However, he is sometimes a bit forgetful, which is why it sometimes takes a little longer to find out where exactly you ended up this time. When it turns back into a cube, Cora can type in the appropriate Bible book, chapter, and verse and CT will bring you right there.
