The Série 2500 locomotives were the first 15 electric locomotives built for the Portuguese State Railways (CP). They went into service in 1956 for the newly electrified 25 kV line north of Lisbon . They had a top speed of 120 km / h. In 2009 they were retired; all but one were scrapped.
