Convention des patriotes pour la justice et la paix

The Convention des patriotes pour la justice et la paix ( French for Convention of Patriots for Justice and Peace or CPDP for short ) is a rebel army from the east of the Central African Republic . It was founded by Charles Massi . The group had around 1,000 soldiers under arms at the beginning of 2010 and was able to increase this number to 3,000 after the arrest of Massi in early 2010 (January 2011).

On November 24, 2010, the CPDP captured the city of Birao , which was only recaptured by government troops after a week . The Chad Air Force flew attacks.

The group kidnapped 21 electoral commission employees for the 2011 Central African Republic presidential election .
