cPanel is a web-based configuration tool for web server and web hosting companies that was developed by the manufacturer cPanel Inc. for the Unix / Linux operating systems CentOS , FreeBSD , Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CloudLinux.

Along with Plesk, cPanel is a leading provider on the US market and offers a web-based administration interface for almost all common administrative tasks. It enables numerous functions under GNU / Linux web servers that are otherwise only available with a high level of configuration effort or knowledge. This includes, for example, support for Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions or Java using Apache Tomcat . cPanel is also multilingual; more than 20 of the most important languages ​​are available.
