CSD Stonewall Award
The CSD Stonewall Award is an annual prize awarded on the occasion of Christopher Street Day Zurich . The prize money is usually 3000 Swiss francs.
purpose
The purpose of the award is to promote people, groups and projects who work in the broadest sense for social acceptance and equality for gays and lesbians. The projects come mainly from the fields of culture, politics and science.
history
The prize has been awarded since 1997. Initially, the organizer of the CSD, the Gay Pride Christopher Street Day Zurich association, awarded this prize on its own initiative. It has been financed together with the Stonewall Foundation in Zurich since 2002 . The last award so far took place in 2011.
Award winners
The previous winners were:
- 1997: Monika Stocker , City Councilor Zurich
- 1998: Kurt Aeschbacher , TV presenter, and Verena Grendelmeier , then national councilor of the State Ring of Independents
- 1999: Ruth Genner , National Councilor from Zurich, for her parliamentary initiative "Opening up marriage to gays and lesbians"
- 2000: Doris Fiala , then spokeswoman for the EuroGames 2000 in Zurich and today FDP canton president Zurich
- 2001: The Keller couple from the FELS association (friends and parents of lesbians and gays)
- 2002: Marianne Bruchez, organizer Pride Sion
- 2003: The makers of the exhibition "Outrageous - Lesbians and Gays Yesterday and Today"
- 2004: Swiss Catholic Women's Association
- 2005: Veronika Minder , director
- 2006: Association "Yes to the Partnership Act "
- 2007: Wankdorf Junxx, gay and lesbian fan club of the BSC Young Boys
- 2008: School project GLL (Same-sex love for life)
- 2009: Ernst Ostertag and Röbi Rapp
- 2010: Sunci Nikolic and Fab Syz, operators of the lesbian online community www.shoe.org .
- 2011: Dr. Erika Volkmar, Agnodice Foundation.
