Ca 'Cassetti is a palace in Venice in the Veneto region of Italy . It is located in the San Polo sestiere with a view of the Rio de San Stin on the corner of the Rio die Frari near the Campo San Stin on the bridge of the same name.

history

The building dates from the 17th century. It belonged to the Cassetti family , originally from Brescia . The family, which was very successful in the silk trade , was accepted into the city council in 1662 against payment of 100,000 ducats and thus into a Venetian patriciate and had the palace rebuilt to meet their needs as a patrician family. Today it is divided into different apartments.

Ca 'Cassetti is a large palace with five floors: ground floor, mezzanine , two main floors and a mezzanine under the roof.

The main facade to the Rio de San Stin is rather simple and has cornices to separate storeys and a portal to the water on the ground floor.

The side facade to the Rio dei Frari shows an unusual, double Venetian window on the second main floor , which is now partially bricked up. It is provided with a continuous, protruding balcony .
