Cabaret Desire is a Spanish porn film by the Swedish director Erika Lust . The film was released in 2011.

action

At a magical, unconventional place, the "Poetry Brothel", people meet to read erotic stories at night and have them read to them. The owner of this brothel introduces each guest to a man or a woman, who then takes the visitors into the world of reciting and storytelling. Four different stories are implemented in short film sequences. A waitress stands between a lover and a lover, a man talks about his art-stealing mother who sneaks into the apartments of strange men, a woman is given a date for her birthday and a young couple gets together again.

background

The setting of the film was inspired by Poetry Brothel , a project by The Poetry Society of New York . The aim of the project is to bring poetry out of the classroom through public, private or spontaneous readings to unconventional and often erotic places. The readers do not recite privately, but slip into the role of a fictional character.
