Cabildo Insular de La Palma

Cabildo Insular de La Palma is the name of the Island Council ( Cabildo Insular ) politically to Spain belonging Canary Island of La Palma . The island capital Santa Cruz de La Palma is the seat of the Cabildos.

Like all Cabildos in the Canary Islands , the Cabildo de La Palma was introduced in 1912 after the Cabildo Act ( Spanish Ley de Cabildos ) came into force. The composition is determined by a democratic election. The island government of La Palma performs its own tasks below the level of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and above the level of the municipal administrations of the fourteen island communities .

Current composition

Anselmo Pestana Padrón ( PSOE ) has been president of the island government since 2013 . The 21 seats in the island parliament have been distributed as follows since the regional elections on May 24, 2015:
