The Cachalot Peak is a 1040 m high mountain not far from the Oskar II coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 5.5 km west of Mount Queequeg between the Stubb and Starbuck glaciers .
The British Antarctic Survey surveyed the mountain between 1963 and 1964. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1976 after a common English name for the sperm whale .
