Cachorros de León

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cachorros de León is a soccer team from the city of León , located in the Mexican state of Guanajuato , which serves as a farm team for Club León .

history

The Cachorros ( Spanish for descendants ) were represented for two seasons between 1979 and 1981 in the Segunda División , which was then still second class . The Cachorros celebrated their greatest sporting success in the now only third-rate Segunda Division in the 2011 Clausura , which was won by a final victory over the Alacranes de Durango B team (0-0 and 3-0). In the 2010/11 season finale, the Cachorros de León also beat their namesake Cachorros de la UANL ( UANL Tigres farm team , which won the 2010 Apertura ) with 2: 2 and 4: 1.

As a farm team, however, they were not allowed to take part in the promotion to the second division and ultimately even lost their place in this league due to the restructuring of the Segunda División before the 2011/12 season, which was associated with a significant reduction in the participating teams . Therefore, they occurred in the 2011/12 season in the fourth-rate Tercera División , where they were assigned to regional group X.
