Menhir of Cae Coch

The Bronze Age menhir of Cae Coch stands immediately north of the path that once formed the Sarn Helen Roman road between Caerhun and Caernarfon , southeast of Tal-y-Fan, west of Rowen in Gwynedd Wales .

The approximately 1.5 meter high menhir ( English standing stone ) is one of several prehistoric monuments on a west-east line along the southern slopes of the Tal-y-Fan. The stone is on a low hill and is quite wide, its longitudinal axis is oriented roughly east-west.

Nearby are the menhir at Bwlch y Ddeufaen to the west and the chamber tombs of Maen y Bardd and Rhiw to the east.
