Kersten Flenter (born October 29, 1966 in Hanover ) is a German author , editor and singer

Life

After completing his community service, Kersten Flenter studied German and sociology in his hometown of Hanover. Since 1991 he has been working as a writer and with activities related to literature and stage appearances. In addition to writing short stories, novels, poems and columns, the former also include e.g. B. Reviews and proofreading. Furthermore he organizes and moderates cultural events and appears with his texts.

Flenter was (together with Max Würden) the initiator and producer of the international CD / DVD project “Urban Electronic Poetry” (2004), a collaboration between fourteen authors and nine musicians and filmmakers from five countries. In October 2004 he was the only German participant in the Canadian Spoken Wordlympics in Ottawa, from 2005 to 2009 he was a founding member of the always sold-out, first Hanover reading stage OraL (Organization for Applied Literature), since 2011 he has been a member of the reading stage "Nachtbarden" (cabaret prize "Fohlen von Niedersachsen “in November 2015).

In 2000 the PRINZ magazine named Kersten Flenter one of the 50 most important Hanoverians for his activities as event organizer (reading series in the Faust cultural center , Hannover-Linden 1993–99, Buchfrust Music & Poetry Festival 1995–99).

His novel A Screenplay for Götz , published together with Thorsten Nesch . A Sardinian dropout comedy was published in 2012 by Satyr Verlag . It is about a dropout in Sardinia, who is looking for a writer who lives there, affectionately known as Götz by the locals , to present his script to him .

In addition to his novels, Flenter has published numerous volumes of short stories. Furthermore, volumes of poetry by Kersten Flenter are published practically annually to this day. His poems are often marked by melancholy and sarcasm, but also convey hope and sometimes intoxicated life energy. In his poems he works with intense imagery that clearly shows his career from the social beat of the 1990s.

As a singer he appears in the programs Wiegenlieder, Waisen & Krakeeler - songs and texts by Tom Waits with Christoph Knop and his band, reading drive meets bar song with the band Schöneworth , we are not made for reality, but for love with Lukas Rauchstein as well as with the singer / songwriter duo Fränkie & Fronqkh .
